Improving our overall PERFORMANCE
By offering advice and support, as well as community development initiatives on the ground
Since 2005, COMAP has supplied the charity 1001 Fontaines with water treatment solutions (UVC sterilizers, filtration systems, etc.) via its Water Treatment division. Through this partnership, nearly 80,000 people have access to drinking water in Cambodia, Madagascar and India. COMAP is also involved in the “Parraine-moi… Une fontaine” sponsorship scheme which supplies free, safe drinking water to village schools in the vicinity of a 1001 Fontaines standpipe.
A shared dynamic
COMAP engages in all aspects of sustainable development (economic, social, societal andenvironmental) to create synergy with its business activities:
Production and design
All Group businesses have embarked on an optimisation process.
- Our industrial sites are closely involved in this, and two of our factories are ISO 14001 certified: Abbeville in France (80) since 2007 and Brescia in Italy since 2009.

- Maintaining and upgrading plant positively impacts on the Group’s environmental performance, as well as benefiting site employees through improved workstations, reduced noise pollution and so on. These investments also increase the Group’s capacity for innovation. At the Abbeville test site, for example, all our new products are now eco-designed (to find out more, see the section on Innovation).
Travel and transport
Logistics teams are also involved in the optimisation process (centralised inventory, higher volume flows) to reduce the carbon footprint of transport, storage and production activities. In parallel, our sales force attend combined eco-driving and driver awareness training.
The IT department is working to streamline data exchange and communication to reduce paper use (paperless order handling, online order tracking, consolidation of information systems, etc.). These initiatives boost the overall performance of the business by improving our customer service.
- achieving the goal of developing the best installations in terms of energy efficiency, comfort and safety;
- listening to professionals so that it can improve on its products and services.
By fostering European suppliers – as close as possible to our markets and our sites - the Group’s purchase policy helps reduce our carbon footprint.
